Greg Johnson has come up with a wonderful reworking of Coltrane's Giant Steps, turning his arrangement into a fresh take on the iconic tune that changed Jazz music in a big way.

Inspired by a trip to Tokyo, this big band arrangement features all of the horns and drum set.  No piano, bass or guitar.  I've found it to be a nice middle of the set piece.  Lead trumpet part goes up to a high E.

This is my best emulation of a Benny Carter-style ballad.  Very challenging trombone soloist part and tricky bridge for the saxophones.

Sometimes you just have to throw the bones.. a bone.  This trombone feature is for 4 trombones and rhythm section.  Easy to play technically, it is challenging to capture the character of the piece!

My best emulation of early Thad Jones.  This piece is a conrafact of "Can't We Be Friends".  I also gave myself a solo and used it as an opportunity to go OLD school!

This slightly reharmonized Blues gives your soloists the opportunity to shine!  Easy ensemble parts with a dynamic shout chorus.
